Walk Alongside Β· opening soon
A private, gentle community for parents living with estrangement from an adult child β somewhere to be understood, without having to explain.
We know the shape of it
Estrangement from your own child is a loss almost no one knows how to talk about β so most of us carry it in silence. If you have felt alone in it, you are not. This is the path so many of us have walked:
When the relationship was still whole β and, looking back, the first small fractures you couldn't have known would matter.
The calls that got shorter. The warmth that cooled. New words began to appear β boundaries, toxic β that left you unsure what had happened, or what you had done.
The day contact stopped. The shock, the shame, the questions with no answers β a person gone, but not gone.
The long stretch where most of us spend the most time. Holidays, birthdays, other family. Learning to carry a loss that never quite settles.
The letters written and rewritten. The attempts to reconnect β and the hard work of holding hope alongside the risk of being hurt again.
When contact returns, it's rarely simple β rebuilding trust, the fear of another rupture, and finding what a new relationship can be.
Most of us move back and forth across this β hope, then grief, then hope again. Wherever you are on it today, there is a place for you here.
Why we're building this
Walk Alongside comes from parents who know this from the inside β the pain of separation from a child, and the helplessness of loving someone you can no longer reach. We went looking for a place where we could be understood without judgment, and safe enough to be honest. When we couldn't find one, we set out to build it β quietly and carefully, for people walking the same road.

We're building Walk Alongside quietly and carefully. Leave your name below, and you'll be the first to hear when it's ready.
We'll be in touch when Walk Alongside opens its door. Until then β you're not alone in this.
